This piece is a manifestation of the juxtaposing unrest between my relatives and our bonds. For years my mom has done her best to carefully weave us together to form the comforting environment promised from the idea of family. To achieve this she's had to make disproportionate sacrifices to her health and her own opportunities. Ultimately we have to blur the lines of how stable and authentic this family bundle. I've made this piece questioning the authenticity of certain performative motivations and goals and whether or not they are worth the little time we have if they don't genuinely feed our own souls.

Courtney Pride has recently been obsessed with the environment he and his family survives in. Whether it is the facade of thin identical walls or a mental ballet dance, He feels it Is crucial that there be weight given to the literal and metaphorical places where others devote our time. Therefore their mixing of traditional and digital processes attempt to hint toward the varying authenticity of our connections and motivations and provide a step to continue his own personal growth.
